Anshi National Park is right next to Dandeli Wildlife Sanctuary. The Park is a Tiger reserve, and spotting wildlife is almost a certainty here. Animals like elephants and sloth bears have also made Anshi their home. The entire reserve is spread over 340 square kilometres.
Skyes Point for a Panoramic View
Find yourself holding your breath with amazement at Skyes Point. The thick forest, deep valley, and the curvy River Kali will form a scene that no words can describe. Viewing the confluence of River Kali and Nagajhari forms an excellent feast for the eyes. Watching Hornbills from this point is a unique experience.
Go Back to the Royal Times at Shivaji Fort
A mere 22 kilometres from Dandeli is the Shivaji Fort, built by the great Maratha warrior. The great Sangolli Rayanna also occupied it at one point in its lifetime. Shivaji Fort allows you to take home a piece of history with you.
Pay Your Respects at Kavala Caves and Sri Mallikarjuna Temple
Traverse your way up 375 steps to reach Kavala Caves, which host a naturally formed Shiva Linga. Coursing through the narrow tunnels to reach the Linga is quite exciting. The Kavala Caves go back to prehistoric times.
Enjoy the Kadamba architecture of Sri Mallikarjuna Temple. The Temple is believed to predate even the Shivaji Fort. Navarang Mantapa is a unique attraction.
